How E-UMZUG works in 5 steps
The process is simple and fully digital. You only need a Swiss-Login (SwissID), which you can create for free.
- Open the eumzug.ch portal and log in with SwissID
- Enter the moving date, old and new address
- Register all moving persons (children under 18 automatically)
- Choose recipients: residents’ registration office, post, other bodies
- Check the data and submit – the authorities are informed automatically
Who is informed via E-UMZUG?
Notifying the residents’ registration office of the new municipality is mandatory and required in Switzerland within 14 days. You can add other recipients voluntarily.
- Residents’ registration office of the new municipality (mandatory)
- Canton and municipality / tax authorities (mandatory)
- Swiss Post – change of address and forwarding (optional)
- Army or civil protection (if applicable)
- Other connected bodies depending on the canton
