Packing right: pro tips for your move

Good packing saves time, money and nerves on moving day. With the right order, suitable materials and clever labelling, unpacking in the new home becomes child’s play.

The right materials

Sturdy, uniform boxes stack and carry better. Invest in good material – it protects your belongings.

  • Sturdy moving boxes of uniform size
  • Packing paper, bubble wrap and blankets for fragile items
  • Strong tape and a waterproof marker
  • Special boxes for clothes, books and dishes

Order and labelling

Pack room by room and label each box with its contents and destination room. That way the team immediately knows where everything goes.

  • Rarely used rooms first, everyday items last
  • Heavy things in small boxes, light things in large ones
  • Label each box with contents + destination room
  • Pack a "first-night box" for the first evening

Frequently asked questions

How many boxes do I need for my move?

As a rule of thumb, count around 10–15 boxes per room. More if you have many books or dishes.

Should I pack myself or have it done?

Packing yourself saves money but takes time. For fragile items and when time is short, our packing service is worthwhile – safe and fast.
